FAQ's

Neighbourhood Support Auckland is a local group of members, partners and sponsors. Our common purpose is to create safe and caring neighbourhoods and communities, reducing the incidences and effects of criminal offending, building community resilience and strengthening community networks to improve the quality of life.
Do you want to know your neighbours? Neighbourhood Support groups facilitate relationships between neighbours that foster a sense of community and wellbeing. Becoming part of a group can also lower your rick of being burgled. Statistics show that generally, about 80% of burglaries occur at properties that are not members of active Neighbourhood Support groups.

Stealing number plates in Auckland will be much harder for thieves as a bid to reduce thefts. The police have teamed up with Neighbourhood Support and launch the Safer Plates initiative four years ago. Which allows members of the public to get their regular number plate screws replaced with special security screws. We hope with this new and improved version of Safer Plates we will reach more people, increase education for crime prevention and decrease victimisation which will all go towards meeting our targets for trust and confidence and fewer victims.

Coffee with a Cop session being held in Mt Albert.  Feel free to post this on your social media sites and pass on the message.

Coffee with a Cop is an initiative that aims to promote Police in the local area, engage with local residents and retailers, gather information and enhance the trust between Police and the community.

Members of the community are invited to sit down and have a coffee with their local officers and discuss any concerns they are having or simply have a general chat.

Coffee with a Cop – no speeches, no agendas – just informal conversations about what matters to the community.
